A very much deserved Thanks! to Tom and the Pirates for a great event at O'Neill Park! I know they spent a lot of time preparing for the event and it showed... tons of fun stuff to do all weekend long...and all well executed! The boys enjoyed getting knighted and having the swords and shields to attack each other with. The Medieval/Holy Grail theme was a winner... Speaking of, congrats to the Pioneers for figuring out the clues and finding the Grail. We all learned what the difference between a trebuchet and a catapult is... and from the hits I saw on the target we can rest assured that Rising Son is prepared to battle as long as we have a good supply of grapefruits handy! We enjoyed some delicious and interesting food items at the Faire on Saturday...and some entertaining Regalia presentations... I'm still laughing from the Frontiersmen's poem!
If all that wasn't enough - arranging for the Society for Creative Anachronism to present and work with the kids on their swordsmanship was icing on the cake... Thank you to the SCA members who volunteered their time!
I hope everyone got a chance to send their pigs out in style with the fill it and kill it machine... What a cool way to donate to a great campaign cause -Rising Son continues to be extremely generous!
Thanks again to Tom and the Pirates...tremendous job and a great time had by all!
