What a great weekend at Joshua Tree with Rising Son - Sal and the Pioneers did a great job running an awesome event! I know the weather conditions were less than perfect Friday night and Saturday morning (Saturday night and Sunday morning were absolutely beautiful!), but Tyler and I had fun the entire time (even while holding up the projection screen for the entire movie). The rocket launching was a blast, and the climbing rocked! I can't believe how incredible that area of the park is - the mountains of rocks and the millions of Joshua trees are amazing!
It was great to able to have our second induction ceremony for the year at such a beautiful venue...7 families were able to participate, and we welcome them into the Rising Son family! Thank you to Kurt, Kirk and the other dads and sons who helped make the induction ceremony a great experience for those new (or certified new) families!
Congratulations to the Eagles for winning the Hubie (and possibly breaking a record for the number of participants at a non-family event) - and to Eric and Andrew Smith with the Trappers for winning the event's Navigator Award...look forward to seeing you all at Lake O'Neill!
